HAZARDOUS LOCATION BULK BAG LOADING SYSTEM
APPLICATION / PRODUCT: Convey semi-free flowing powdered chemical product into a gain-in-weight bulk bag loading station at a rate of 10,500 pounds per hour. This system was installed in a hazardous location environment (Class 2, Division II, Group E, F, and G).
CUSTOM FEATURES: The system featured 304 stainless steel construction on all product contact surfaces. The inclined 6" rigid U-trough conveyor included removable covers and a custom inlet hopper to provide a dust tight seal to existing rotary dryer and allow easy conveyor clean out.
The system also included a product densification feature with a 3/4" thick carbon steel loading platen, twin pneumatic vibrators and vibration isolator mounts. In addition the system had an intrinsically safe gain-in-weight scale system. A NEMA 7/9 explosion proof enclosure with a four set point interface relay provided the programmable control signals for both the hazardous location conveyor motor and the dual pneumatic vibrators. The bag frame also included a pneumatic actuated hanger release system and an inflatable bag attachment seal. The inlet also featured a dust control sleeve to allow for air exhaust from the bag as filling occurred. All non-contact surfaces were painted with a two part industrial epoxy.
