HAZARDOUS LOCATION PORTABLE DRUM DUMPER
APPLICATION / PRODUCT:
Discharge 55 gallon drums of powder into an existing mixer in a dust tight manner. Units were installed in a hazardous location environment (Class 1, Division II, Group D).
CUSTOM FEATURES:
Drum dumper included a custom 304 stainless steel pour cone with a 2b finish. Pour cone included a custom discharge opening 12" x 18" in size. A stainless steel carriage was supplied to facilitate easy loading of the drums into the dumper at approximately 10" above floor level.
The hydraulic power system included the exclusive MTS Lift & Seal System™ to ensure dust tight sealing of the drums to the fixed pour cone.
The hydraulic system was air motor powered, and all controls were air operated to provide an intrinsically safe unit. The unit featured dual-acting cylinders with chromed rods.
The portable frame was provided with a custom Trac-Lock system which allowed dumper to be rolled away from receiving vessel (mixer) to allow operator access to add other ingredients. This portable system also allowed for dumping of drums into two different mixers.
