LIFT & DUMP DRUM DISCHARGING SYSTEM
APPLICATION / PRODUCT: Engineered to discharge and feed 30 gallon drums of nickel cerium oxide powder into an existing receiving vessel. Dust-tight system featured a 133" discharge height with a 60° discharge angle.
CUSTOM FEATURES: Unit included a 304 stainless steel pour cone with a 2b finish. Pour cone included a fully mounted 6" pneumatically actuated Posi-flate butterfly valve with 316L stainless steel on contact. Valve also included "fail-closed" operation and a switch pack to sense gate position.
Our exclusive MTS Lift & Seal System provided dust-tight sealing of drums to the fixed pour cone, and prevented dust from escaping into the plant air.
A Solids Flow feeder was custom mounted to the dumper frame. All necessary stainless steel flanges, transitions, and flexible connections were provided for dust-tight connection between the dumper and the feeder. The custom inlet transition to the feeder included a proximity sensor to disable the unsealing operation of the dumper. The feeder allowed full operator control of feed rates and batch sizes into the receiving vessel. A second Posi-flate butterfly valve was mounted to the inlet of the feeder to ensure dust-tight operation.
The completely self-contained power pack featured a Baldor TEFC motor and rigid hydraulic lines. The Hoffman NEMA 4 control station featured "dead-man" type controls, system status indicator lights, and a lockable disconnect.
