AIR POWERED STAINLESS STEEL DRUM TILTER
APPLICATION / PRODUCT: Unit was engineered to tilt plastic drums to a 5° angle (95° rotation), then power the drum forward 18" to mate with an existing glove box docking flange. The contents of the open top drums were contained by a plastic liner. Unit was designed for use in a Class II, Division I, Group G environment.
CUSTOM FEATURES: Unit featured an air powered design for quiet, water-tight, and intrinsically safe operation. Cushioned air cylinders provided smooth rotation and horizontal lift. The tilter frame was constructed from 304 stainless steel structural tubing, with capped tubes, continuous TIG welds, and no pockets. The tilter bucket was constructed from 304 stainless steel, with continuous TIG welds. Both the tilter frame and bucket were polished to a 150 grit finish.
The unit included a selector switch control for "DUMPER UP" and "DUMPER DOWN", which controlled rotation of the carriage to the discharge position, and returned the carriage to the loading/unloading position. A second selector switch for "EXTEND" and "RETRACT" controlled the action of an air cylinder actuated platten which moved the drum forward or back once the carriage reached the full tilt position. The controls were mounted in a water-tight and corrosion resistant Hoffman stainless steel enclosure.
