LIFT & DUMP CONTAINER DUMPER
APPLICATION / PRODUCT:
Discharge 1,000 lb. gaylord containers of cereal into a FMC vibratory feeder on a packaging line. Unit featured a gravity roller conveyor for easy loading of totes at 18" above floor level.
CUSTOM FEATURES :
Box dumper included a custom 304 stainless steel pour hood with a 2b finish. Dumper was designed for a 60° angle of discharge, with a 150° rotation.
The hydraulic system included the exclusive MTS Lift & Seal System™ to ensure dust sealing of the totes to the fixed pour hood. This feature prevents foreign matter from falling inside the tote, causing contamination of the product. The hydraulic fluid and grease were both FDA/USDA approved for incidental food contact.
The unit was also equipped with numerous safety features. Safety guarding was provided on two sides of the unit with removable access panels. Photo electronic switches were mounted to prevent lowering of the skip, or operation of the Lift & Seal System™ if the beams were broken.
The unit was powered by a Baldor 5HP washdown duty motor. The frame featured washdown duty construction with continuous welds, eliminating water pockets where dirt and water can accumulate in pockets. The dumper was painted with an FDA approved stainless steel pigmented epoxy. NEMA 4 electricals with terminal blocks were supplied to tie in to customers existing PLC.
